CAO Chau "Joe" Cao, 65, of Oklahoma City, OK passed away in his sleep on Sunday, December 31, 2016 at Mayfair Village Nursing Home in Columbus, Ohio. A celebration of life service will be held at 12:00 pm, Wednesday, January 4 at O.R. Woodyard Funeral Home, 2990 Bethel Rd., Columbus, OH 43220. Thich Huu Nguyen will be officiating. Friends may gather from 12:00 until 2:00 p.m., Wednesday at the funeral home. Chau was born November 15, 1951 in Cholon, Vietnam to Tan Cao and Hao Tran and moved to the USA in 1979 following the Vietnam War. While in a refugee camp on his way to America he met his lovely bride Le (Hong) Cao and married on December 21, 1980 in Los Angeles, CA. Chau also known as "Joe" to his many customers, owned and operated Cao's Auto Service Center on North Western Ave. in Oklahoma City for 30 years as head auto mechanic. Le worked alongside him and managed the business. He also enjoyed home improvement projects. Chau is survived by wife Le (Hong) Cao and son, Michael Cao, granddaughter Malana Cao of Columbus, Ohio and several brothers, sisters and nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials may be made to the Linh Son Pagoda of Ohio, 4045 Cleveland Ave., Columbus, OH 43224 to help build a permanent mausoleum and resting place.
