David Franklin Thompson Obituary - Visitation & Funeral Information

David Franklin Thompson, 80, of Canal Winchester, Ohio, went to be with his Lord and Savior on November 18, 2021, surrounded by his family at his home. David was born on January 21, 1941, in Webbville, Kentucky. He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Frances Rogers Thompson, and his three children, Gerald (Melissa) Thompson of Lancaster, Kimberly (Jonathan) Waid of Canal Winchester, and Stephen Thompson of Canal Winchester, along with six grandchildren: Cody Thompson, Nathan and Joshua Waid, and Emily, Joseph, and Jacob Thompson, and a host of nieces and nephews. He was proceeded in death by his parents, Grover C. and Belva Dean Thompson, four brothers and five sisters. He loved bluegrass music, fishing, Kentucky basketball, and time with family. David retired from Norfolk Southern Railroad after 30 years of service. The greatest miracle of his life happened on June 2, 2020, when he accepted Jesus Christ as his Savior. He was baptized soon after on July 26, 2020. He spent the remainder of his time concerned for the salvation of others.
