A LETTER FROM YOUR KIDS I want to thank each and every one for your thoughts, prayers, contributions, all of my best friends staying by my side and helping me when I couldn't help myself. I loved my dad with all of my heart and he loved all of you with his. My dad knew no strangers. If you were a family member or friend and you needed something, my dad would give you the shirt off of his back or his last dollar. If you were homeless on the streets, my dad would give you his last dollar. Even in death, my dad gave everything that he had. He was an organ donor and as heartbroken as I am, I find comfort in knowning that on our worst day, dad made sure that another family was having their best. We were making poster boards and on the back of a picture dad wrote "Little Ed's papa was a rolling stone." My dad went by many names as time went on. He settled down and told stories of the things he had done and experienced. My dad was one of the hardest workers that you could ever know. He was up every day at 6 am and ready to go. I don't think he hardly ever made it home before 9 pm. He was chasing that dollar to take care of his "Fam." He would come in the door as tired as he could be, but then he would ask what he could do for me. My answer to him was always the same…come sit down and relax dad, but nothing would change. He NEVER put himself first, he rarely had time, my dad was chasing that dollar all the time. For ALL of you "Hard Workers" my advice is to take time out of the day for those precious to you!!! We're not promised one second, not one second in a day and in the blink of an eye it can be all gone. We talked about fishing and going to see Christmas lights but in my daddy's busy days he just couldn't find the time. God knew he was weak and he didn't have long, God whispered in his ear. Let missy take you home. We grew closer and closer; doctors' appointments became our breakfast and lunch dates. I'd tell you everything will be okay. Then you'd jump in your and you'd start your day. December 8th, 2020 was a day just like any other you hopped in your car to go get the others, you didn't make it home until around 9:30 pm. You were wore out and tired and ate chili again. Around 10:30 I told you "I love you" and I was going to bed; you were talking to Paula you said "I love you too." Had I known that would be the last time I saw you, I would have kissed you a million times. December 9, 2020 at 1:41 am is the worst day of my life. God called you home and it cuts like a knife. I know you're not in pain, and you're in Heaven, but it will never be the same. Thank you Lord for picking this man to be our father. We love and miss you tremendously, Daddy Forever, your Sunshines!!!
