Helen Gerris, age 81, passed away December 11, 2014. Born January 17, 1933 in Erie, PA to the late Gregory and Bessie Christos. She was longtime member of The Annunciation Greek Orthodox Cathedral, where she was a member of the Philoptochos, the church choir, 50 Plus Group, as well as a member of the Paul Brunton Philosophic Foundation. She is preceded in death by sisters Ethel Warren Eve Vogan and Mary Kohler. Helen is survived by children, Cynthia (Mark Barr) Gerris and Elizabeth (Jeff) Hawk; grandchildren, Terrence and Sarah Barr; sisters, Stella Blair, Christina Harper, and Pauline (Bob) Jackson; several nieces, nephews and other relatives and many friends. There will be a gathering of friends and family Wednesday, December 17 from 4-6 p.m. at O. R. WOODYARD CO, Northwest Chapel, 2990 Bethel Rd., where a Trisagion service will be held at 6 p.m. Inurnment will be held at a later date.
