Hubert D. Carr was born on September 28, 1933 in New Marshfield, OH to the late Martin Luther and Bertha (Hogston) Carr. Hubert served his country for 4 years in the U.S. Air Force. Part of that time, he was a flight mechanic in the combat zone during the Korean War. After his discharge, he worked for Rockwell International. He was also an auto mechanic for many years. Hubert enjoyed bowling, working with wood, camping with family and friends, and listening to bluegrass music. He especially enjoyed being with his family and playing with his grandchildren. He was a longtime member of Columbus Enterprise Free Will Baptist Church. Hubert is preceded in death by his wife of over 40 years, Launita, whom passed in 2021; siblings, Juanita Woodyard, Vera Stanley, Betty Campbell, and Eddie Carr. He is survived by a daughter, Susan Carr of TX; stepsons, Robert "Gene" (Darlene), Roy "Alfred" (Dobbie), Roger, Mike (Liz), and Stevie Collier, all of Columbus, OH; sister, Mary Dotson of FL; 11 grandchildren, 17 great grandchildren; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and many friends. Calling hours will be held Wednesday, May 11, 2022 from 5 p.m. until time of funeral service at 7 p.m. at the O.R. WOODYARD CO. SOUTH CHAPEL, 1346 S. High St. in Columbus, OH. Pastor Jeff Leslie officiating. A graveside committal service and interment will be 1 p.m. Friday, May 13, 2022 at Baker Family Cemetery in Grayson, KY.
