Joshua Slaven, 38, passed away on Saturday, December 21,2019 in Grove City, Ohio due to complications of type 1 juvenile diabetes.. He was born on December 21, 1981 in Lima, Ohio. He was proceeded in death by his beloved grandmother, Carole Brandstadt of Wapakoneta, Ohio and his father Chares Slaven of St.Mary's, Ohio. He is survived by his mother Tara (Jeff) Bishop of Grove City, Ohio, stepmother Betsy Slaven of St Mary's Ohio, his sister Keri (Christopher) Bull of Columbus, Ohio, his brothers Chad (Crystal) Slaven, Brandon Slaven and Dillion Slaven all of St. Marys, Ohio. Josh also had many aunts, uncles and cousins from both sides of the family. Josh was happiest when he was with is nieces and nephews Erik, Quinn and Harlie (Keri), Ethan, Logan and Isabella (Chad), Journey, Rayliegh and Kinslee (Brandon), Lillian and Aubri (Dillion). Josh also extended his love to Braeden Sturwold so much so that he was considered a son. Josh enjoyed fishing, music and watching youtube. I could hear him laugh from the other room. He would come and show me the especially funny ones. He also liked to talk and tell stories of his past adventures that i am sure I got the watered down version. He also would call and ask someone for a ride at 3am to go get a soda or something to eat. He liked to talk of his Grandma and how she made him eat salad and chicken and she was one of the late night calls. He spoke often about his father, Charlie. Josh liked to get ornery and pull pranks on him and Betsy. He often talked about his brother Chad and going fishing with Ethan and Logan. Josh would have wanted everyone to remember the good times and celebrate his life and be comforted knowing he is no longer in pain or suffering from his limitatations. He was baptized several weeks ago and that was important to him. The service will be at O R Woodyard, 1346 S High St. Columbus, Ohio on Friday January 3, 2020. Visitation will be from 1pm to 3pm with service at 3pm with Todd Lambert officiating.
