Juanita F. Stevens

December 27, 1940 - March 28, 2022

Juanita F. Stevens, age 81, went home to be with the Lord on Monday, March 28, 2022 surrounded by her beloved family and friends. Juanita retired from J.C. Penney as a seamstress. She was a longtime member of the South Columbus Freewill Baptist Church, where she loved to sing as a member of the church's choir and quartet. Juanita was a blessing and an inspiration to everyone she met. Her faith in the Lord and the time spent with family were the most important parts of her life. She enjoyed gardening, canning, and preparing homemade meals for those she loved. Juanita is preceded in death by her daughter, Lorita Hensley. She is survived by her husband of 64 years, Billy Stevens; children, Rev. Leon (Jennifer) Stevens, Rev. Tim (Janice) Stevens, and Regina (Tom) Asher; son-in-law, Ernie Hensley; grandchildren, Amanda, Rachel, Ashley, Joshua, Jimmy, Jacob, Sara, Emilee, Chad, Kerstin, and Levi; 14 1/2 great grandchildren; special friend, Willa Maynard; sister, Mildred (Elwood) Evans; numerous nieces, nephews and many friends. Visitation will be Thursday, March 31, 2022 from 5 to 8 p.m. at the O.R. WOODYARD CO. SOUTH CHAPEL, 1346 S. High St. in Columbus, OH. Additional visitation will be Friday, April 1, 2022 from 11 a.m. until time of funeral service at 12 noon at South Columbus Freewill Baptist Church, 632 Hilock Rd. in Columbus, OH 43207. Her funeral will be officiated by her sons, Pastors Leon and Tim Stevens. Interment will follow at Harrison Township Cemetery, South Bloomfield, OH.
