Born in 1927, Norma Kaiser, was a festive Scottish lass who emigrated from her hometown of Edinburgh to the US in the 1950s; she followed her sisters Eileen [Inskeep] and Geraldine [Stevens] along with her parents – Edith and Duncan Conner. Norma met her husband of 27 years, Raymond, who tragically preceded her in death in 1987. Together, they had 3 children – Lori, Wayne, and Cheryl. Lori married Don Barker at age 21 and Cheryl married Brad Ulrey at age 21. Also tragically, Lori, Don, and Wayne all preceded Norma in death, in addition to her parents and all her sisters and brothers-in-law. Ever the social butterfly, Norma always lighted wherever the party was. If there was no party, she brought the fun herself! She taught dance, visited 30-some countries all around the world, did hair, sold ladies’ clothing, and even worked on a farm. In all locations, she made friends that she kept all her life – especially her girlhood best friends Gladys and Marian who remain in Scotland. Raymond even spoke about being on their honeymoon in Louisiana and Norma meeting friends. She never knew a stranger and will be missed by Cheryl, Brad, friends, and her surviving nieces and nephews around the US and Europe. The Celebration of Norma’s life will be held at the O.R. Woodyard Funeral Home at 2990 Bethel Road Columbus, Ohio on Saturday, June 19, 2021. Visitation at 1:30 with the service to follow at 2:30. Inunrnment Jerome Twp. Cemetery. Please do not send flowers as most of us will be coming from out of town and not able to take them with us. In lieu of flowers, please make a contribution in honor of the family to any of the following: ARC Services for the developmentally disabled, the American Heart Association, and/or the Lilypad/SANE Center of Albany, GA. Each of these wonderful charities either have served our family or were started and served by our family, and all are dear to our hearts, just as Norma was.
