"Not all angels reside in Heaven. Some walk the earth. Just like you." This epitomizes how we felt about Khamphiane Daso Boribong, who passed away peacefully while surrounded by her adoring family on July 22, 2022. Khamphiane's infectious smile and kind heartedness made a lasting impact on everyone that was lucky enough to know her, and she had a uniquely "Mother Boribong" way of meeting new people and not only making them feel welcome, but feel like family. Khamphiane was born on March 12, 1932, in Savannakhet, Laos. She loved cooking for anyone who was around, always ready to teach a recipe she had in mind to one of her children. She loved walking, stretching, going to the temple and bragging about her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren to anyone that would listen. She was determined that one of them was going to be a doctor. But most of all, she loved her nine children; she was devoted to fourteen precious grandchildren; humbled by six great-grandchildren; and her best friend, soul-mate, and husband Khambang, who she never stopped holding hands with for their many years of marriage before his untimely death on October 26, 1976. She and Khambang would create a tight-knit family built around structure and discipline, but it was also a family built around laughter, faith, and love. She is survived by her nine children; her daughter Khambo and husband Dennis; her son Nokham and wife Sengthong; her daughter Nokeo (Gayle) and husband Nong; her son Khampaseuth (Tony) and wife Khamsy; her son Vilaysouk (Bobby) and wife Elsa; her son Somsanouk (Sammy) and wife Davong; her son Somsanith (David) and partner Drew; her son Pasith (Danny); and her daughter Paphavady (Lisa) and husband Dan; her fourteen grandchildren Laura, Christina, Jeffery, Jenny, Jonathan, Brittney, BJ, Sophia, Christopher, Angel, Samantha, Brianna, Brandon and Jaden; and of course those that she is most proud of and have humbled her the most; her six great-grandchildren Nadia, Alexander, Aiden, Ashton, Brooklynn and Sienna. On this day, July 30, 2022, recognizing that Khamphine’s husband, Khambang, a very high ranking Royal Lao military official educated in the United States, having no final resting place, we inter the last item we have of him, a photo, with our mother’s ashes, so that he may have a final resting place, and they may be together, in love, forever. The final interment will take place at Wat Buddha Samakidham, 3296 Watkins Road, Columbus, OH 43207.
