Obituary

On Friday, November 30th, the loving husband and father Luther Jed Mattox passed from this life to the next at the age of 67. Born on September 18th 1951, to loving parents Queen Esther and Thomas Hugo Mattox. Luther was welcomed into this world by a large and loving family in Boomer, West Virginia. Luther was one of 18 children that made up the Mattox family and loved each of his brothers and sisters dearly, all of whom he regularly reminisced and spoke fondly of when telling stories of his youth. For the last 47 years Luther has been with his wife Sharon of whom he loved to a fault. Luther had 5 children Marquita, Qulonia, Kymberly, Michael and Rondel whom he loved with all of his heart. Luther was a collector of various memorobilia especially Watches and Gemstones of which he educated himself in the various nuances extensively. He was an avid sports fan and especially enjoyed watching Boxing and the Michigan Wolverines. He always got a rise from joking with Buckeye fans during the college football season. Those who knew Luther also knew what a kind and giving soul he was. Luther would give the shirt off his back for another as the old saying goes and never withheld anything from someone in need. If one word could describe Luther it would be giving. Luther was preceded in death by his fathe Thomas Hugo and his mother Queen Esther. He is survived by his wife Sharon, his children, Marquita, Qulonia, Kymberly, Michael and Rondel and his many brother's and sister's. Friends may gather at the MYERS-WOODYARD FUNERAL HOME 587 Main Street, Groveport, on Friday, December 7, from 1 to 3 PM. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made directly to the family in Luther's memory. Cemetery Details Cremation-No cemetery at this time.
