On Friday, March 16, 2018, Shannon Ray (known to his nieces and nephews as "Bubby") passed away from a variety of illnesses at the age of 42. He was a beloved son, brother, uncle, and friend. Shannon was born and raised in Columbus, Ohio. He was a Briggs High School alum, where he won the "Class Clown" award his senior year. He carried this title his whole life, making everyone that he came across double over in laughter. He was an avid collector for his many passions, some being zombies, the paranormal, mythology, comics, among others, and spent his days enjoying the arts. He is preceded in death by father Brian Sr., and survived by mother Margaret, brother Brian Jr. (Heather), sister Lisa, nephews Brian III (Emily) and Clayton, nieces Kaitie and Hannah, great nephew Brian IV, aunts and uncles Patty Martin, Martin (Joann) Wilson, Frank (Pearl) Wilson, Ella Senter, Mary Ray Yoakam, Helena (Kenny) Senter, Barbara (Edward) Pfleager, Theresa (John) Medinger, Jim Ray, Denise (Eddy) Scaggs, Judy (Robbie) Robertson, special friends Joe and Joan Snyder, and several cousins and friends. A showing in memory of Shannon will be held on Wednesday, March 21, 2018 from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm, and the funeral service will begin at 1:00 pm. The services will be held at O.R. Woodyard South Chapel on 1346 S. High St, Columbus, OH 43207. Interment will be held at Fernwood Cemetery on 460 Rowe Rd, Lockbourne, OH 43137 after the funeral.
