ALBERT LEWIS KNIGHTSTEP
July 2, 1940 - April 30, 2026
Albert Lewis Knightstep, beloved husband, father, grandfather, and uncle, passed away
peacefully at home from a short illness on April 30, 2026, at the age of 85. He was born on
July 2, 1940, in Leon, West Virginia. Albert moved to Columbus, Ohio after graduating from
Point Pleasant High School in 1959.
Albert is survived by his loving wife of 63 years, Sharen, his daughter, Tammy, only grandchild,
Jeremy, daughter-in-law, Christina, and favorite niece, Patty. He was preceded in death by
his beloved son, Jeffrey.
Albert and Sharen knew each other their entire lives, together from first grade through
graduation. Albert and Sharen's marriage was a true symbol of unconditional love, care,
support and laughter. No one could make Sharen laugh harder than he could.
Albert and Sharen's home of 40 years was filled with peace, love and laughter. Albert enjoyed
a special relationship with his wonderful neighbors, Colleen (Carlene) and Robert.
Albert was an avid bicycle rider even into his 80's, with his best friend, Jack. Dad would ride
throughout the neighborhood whistling, singing and talking with his many friends and
neighbors. An avid animal lover, his pockets were always filled with dog treats and cat treats.
Albert and his wife Sharen enjoyed countless trips with 12 other couples, going to horse
races, dog races, trips to Vegas, and county music concerts.
Albert possessed the mechanical ability to fix anything. He retired from Crane Plastics in
2002 and spent his remaining years being Mr. Fix-It to neighbors and friends.
Albert touched many lives with his kindness, love and laughter. Albert will be forever missed
by all who knew him.
