Alberta Jean (Zuliani) Cooper, age 73, passed away Friday, June 26, 2020 in Lancaster, OH. She succumbed to cancers after having it 19 other times since she was a child. She was born on November 27, 1946 in Columbus, OH to the late Hilah Jean (Vess) and Albert Zuliani. Growing up,her family knew her as Doc, her classmates as ZuZu, her local community as Gina, and to many millennials she was known as Nana. To all, she was known as a servant of God. She traveled the world from a very young age & went to all of the continents except Antarctica. She began drag racing at age 13. She was 1st chair clarinet at Pickerington High School. Where she graduated in 1964. Educated at Vardell Hall in North Carolina, where she received her Master's Degree in Art History from OSU and was an Associate Art History & Associate Art Appreciation professor at OSU. Gina had jobs ranging from clothing buyer for Gold Circle, a Weeki Wachee Mermaid, performance artist, costume designer, freelance artist, and for 14 years was an UMC lay speaker. She served on Pleasantville and Walnut township elementary school PTAs. She was a Brownie Scout leader in Pleasantville OH. She volunteered with New Salem UMC & Millersport UMC with VBS, Habitat For Humanity, Fairfield County 4-H camp counselor, Foundation Dinners, Waters Edge, & Millersport Food Pantry. She was a 50-year card-Carrying member of the Eastern Star, DAR, Jobs daughter, and of the Pleasantville, OH Garden Club. Her prized possession was her Miss Geranium award. In her last weeks she was planting flowers because she felt that flowers were for the living! On November 8th, 1975. She was married to her husband of 30 years, Ralph Lowman Cooper, whom passed away April 3, 2006. She was an only child and had many cousins. She is survived by her daughter, Ragina Annastacia "Staci" Cooper-Hoffmann (Paul T Hoffmann); Grandchildren, Crystal (Hoffmann) Kalak of Dayton OH, Rachael (Hoffmann) Wolfe of Dayton OH, Aaron Hoffmann of Dayton OH, Marisa Cook of Groveport OH, Grace Henley of Palm Coast, Florida, Samuel Hoffmann of Revenge, OH; and 12 great grandchildren. A memorial gathering will be held Friday, July 3, 2020 at the O.R. Woodyard Co. Funeral Home, 1346 S. High St. In Columbus, OH, from 5 p.m. until time of memorial service at 7 p.m. Pastor Jim Condrey officiating. A webcast of her Memorial Service will be available via Zoom Meetings through the O.R. Woodyard Co. website. Her grandson, Samuel Hoffmann, Life Scout of Troop 52 from Circleville, OH is providing a Scouting for Food donation box at the O.R. Woodyard Co. Funeral Home During her memorial. For many years she loved cooking & serving food for Foundation Dinners, Waters Edge and at the Millersport Food Pantry. Because this was her passion and mission in this life, we will be honoring her legacy by humbly requesting nonperishable food items or financial gifts to food related charity be given instead of flowers.
