We celebrate the life of Alberta Madeline Keene Nathness. She was a loving person, making draperies for her children, crocheting afghans for her children and grandchildren, tutoring children in math and being Grandmother on Grandparents' Day for the children in the neighborhood who did not have grandparents close by. She will be missed by all who knew her. Nathness, 86, a native of Ironton, Ohio and resident of Dublin, Ohio, most recently at Emerald Crossings in Dublin, died at 1:43 a.m., July 29, 2011. She was preceded in death by her parents, Charles Kiser and Lora May Meeks; her loving and devoted husbands, John Keene and Semore Nathness; two brothers, William H. (Henry) Kiser and Andrew Kiser; and four sisters, Irene Dickess, Rosalie Lynd, Clarabelle Delawder and Ruby Biles. She is survived by sons Darrell Jordan and wife Jo of FL; Gary Keene and wife Kim of LA; daughter Cheryl Smith and husband Greg of Dublin; five grandchildren, the light of her life: Tony Stir of Springfield, Jennifer Jordan of Mason, Nicole Smith Brown and husband Kevin of Chicago, Ryan Smith of Ft. Benning, GA, and Samantha Keene Bergeron and husband Glenn of LA; four great-grandchildren, Zachary and Lily Fowler, and Aodhan and Matthias Bergeron, and one great-great-grandchild, Jordan Fowler. She will also be missed by numerous nieces, nephews and friends. She was retired as a secretary at Wright-Patterson Air Force Base and was a long-time member of Northwest Nazarene Church. Visitation will be Saturday, August 6th at 9:00-10:00 a.m. at O. R. Woodyard Co. Northwest Chapel, 2990 Bethel Rd., Columbus, Ohio. Interment will be at 11:30 a.m. in Ferncliff Cemetery in Springfield, Ohio. A private memorial service will be held in the evening.
