Alton Raymond "Ray" Gibson, age 83, passed away September 22, 2024, at home.  Alton was born in Pittsylvania, Virginia on October 15, 1940.  Ray enjoyed sports, and was an avid softball player, enjoyed Kentucky Wildcats Basketball and NFL football.  Preceded in death by parents, Hallsey E. and Helen M. (Mae) Gibson; siblings, Randy, Charlie, Harold, Lynn and Eva Amburgey.  Survived by son, Raymond (Sammantha Kinney) Gibson; grandchildren, Dalton Lee Gibson, Kelly Marie Gibson and Deanna Smith Gibson; great grandchild; many nieces, nephews and friends.   Visitation will be held on Friday, September 27, 2024, from 11 am until the time of service at 1 pm., at O. R. WOODYARD CO. CHAPEL, 1346 S. High Street, Columbus, Ohio 43207.
