Amy Charlene Hay, 56, of Obetz Ohio. passed away peacefully on July 2, 2025, after a long illness, surrounded by her devoted family and friends.
A proud graduate of Hamilton Township High School, Class of 1986, Amy later earned her degree in Business Administration from Strayer University. Her life was one marked by generosity, compassion, and dedication to others. She organized numerous benefit events over the years-helping not only family and friends but also complete strangers in need.
Amy was the heart of her family. She lovingly cared for her mother for many years and provided tender support to her father before his passing. She was a devoted daughter, a proud and nurturing mother, a joyful grandmother, and a beloved wife.
Amy is preceded in death by her father, Oliver Rings.
She is survived by her loving mother, Marilee Rings; her husband of 33 years, Billy "Brick" Hay; her children Melinda, Tyler (Maryah), and Erica (Donovan); her grandchildren Aleyah, Aryahna, Alyvia, and Jaxon; her favorite brother-in-law Randy Hay (Lisa); and her cherished dog, Iggy.
Amy is also remembered fondly by the godmother to her children, Gina McElroy; her dear friends James and Angie Blevins, Jim and Galena Harrow, and Lesa Leslie; and by many treasured bonus children and extended family members and friends.
The family extends a heartfelt thank you to the friends of the Top 20 Club, the entire staff on the second floor Orange unit at Riverside Hospital, and the many others who supported them during this time.
Visitation will be Thursday, July 10, 2025 from 10 a.m. until time of funeral service at 12 p.m. at the O.R. Woodyard Co. South Chapel, 1346 S. High St. in Columbus, OH. Funeral services will be officiated by Pastor Bobby Griffith Jr. Interment will follow at Obetz Cemetery, Obetz, OH.
Amy's strength, warmth, and kindness will continue to live on in the lives she touched.
In lieu of flowers, Amy's family will graciously accept contributions to offset her final expenses at the funeral home.
