Anastasia Bizios, beloved wife, mother and Yiayia (grandmother) went to be with the Lord on April 9, 2026, surrounded by her loving family. She was just shy of her 96th birthday and lived a life many of us envy with great faith, hard work, and devotion to her family. She was born on May 8, 1930, in Athens, Greece. Her life reflected a humble and steadfast faith in God, a deep love for His Holy Church, and a caring devotion to her family and friends.

Leaving her homeland in Greece, she came to America with courage and determination, building a life grounded in faith, hard work, and enduring dedication. While raising her family and anchoring the family business, she embodied a life of purpose and resilience. She moved through the world with a deep respect for her roots, never losing touch with her heritage or the quiet strength of her convictions.

To her grandchildren, whom she cherished with unwavering love, she was a guiding light and a blessing beyond words. Her stories of life in Greece, surviving the war, and building a new life in America will be cherished and remembered by them forever.

Her blessed repose, coming during Holy Week, brings comfort to her family and all who loved her. In this sacred time, the Church walks with us in our grief, yet lifts our hearts to a radiant and joyous hope of the Resurrection, reminding us that in Christ, death is overcome and God's promise of eternal life endures forever.

Anastasia is preceded in death by her beloved husband, Gus. She is survived and fondly remembered by her children, John Bizios (Connie) and Francie Henry (James); her cherished grandchildren, Anastasia, Dimitra, Christina, Charlie (Shannon), and Alexandra; her devoted sister, Pelagia Papefthymiou; her beloved niece, Katina Mozakis; and by numerous nieces, nephews, and dear friends whose lives she touched with love and faith.

Visitation will be held on Friday, April 17th, from 8:30 a.m. to 10:00 a.m., followed by the funeral service at 10:00 a.m. at the Annunciation Greek Orthodox Cathedral, with Rev. Father Demetrios Gardikes officiating. Internment will take place at Forest Lawn Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made to the Annunciation Cathedral Foundation or to Capital City Hospice in her memory.

May our loving God grant her soul repose and number her among the righteous. Memory eternal!
