Annette Marie Atwell January 28, 1942 - February 16, 2022 Annette Marie Atwell, 80, of Columbus, Ohio died peacefully at her home on February 16, 2022, surrounded by family. Annette was born in Huntington, West Virginia on January 28, 1942, to Reverend Henry and Weonia (Alexander) Nickles. She relocated to New Orleans, LA where she graduated from high school and later from nursing school. Nursing was Annette's passion and she dedicated over 45 years of her life to the profession. She worked in hospitals, nursing homes, and concluded her career in private duty nursing. In addition, Annette was a loyal member of the America Legion Auxiliary for over two decades. Privately, she financially contributed to many causes. Annette loved reading, cooking and watching old movies and television shows. Annette was a loving, caring, sensitive and compassionate woman with a huge heart. She was always willing to help anyone with anything. Annette will be deeply missed by her family, friends and all who knew her. Annette is preceded in death by her parents and older sister Margie Beverly. Survivors include daughter, Ginine Trim (Aracelis), son, Gayland Trim (Tina), grandchildren, Ta'tum Neff, Gayland Trim II, Jada Trim, great-grandchildren, Naomi Neff and Zion Roja, and many cousins, nieces and nephews, and grand nieces and nephews. Services will be held on Saturday, February 26, 2022, at O. R. Woodyard Funeral Home located at 1346 South High Street in Columbus, Ohio. The family will receive visitors from 10:30 am - 12:30 pm. The celebration of life will begin at 12:30 pm. Postulant Gayland Trim will officiate and Father Jason Prati will celebrate Holy Eucharist. Entombment will follow at Greenlawn Cemetery located at 1000 Greenlawn Avenue in Columbus, OH. At the conclusion of the service, boxed lunches will be provided.
