Artha "Artie" D. Knoefel, age 82, passed away peacefully on September 24, 2025. She was born in Pinoak in Mercer County, WV to the late John Millard and Edna "Walker" Crotty. She graduated from Matoaka High School, class of 1960.

Artie will be best remembered for her position at the Heyl Elementary School as the lunch lady. In her free time, she enjoyed spending time with her family, playing cards, and spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, who fondly called her "GiGi".

She was a lifetime member of the fraternal order of the eagle's club #2244.

She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Bernard J. Knoefel; daughter, Trudy M. Todd; three sisters, Carol Dean Crotty Davis, Deanna Crotty Kade, and Ronda Eloise Crotty Rich; six brothers, Carnis, Elman, Kayford, Richard, Rancil, Devon, and Glenn Crotty.

She is survived by her daughters, Reva Todd, Bernice (Joe) J. Knoefel Daniels; grandchildren, Mark (Penney) Todd, Christopher (Renan) Day Sr., Jennifer Day, Gabriel Todd, Joseph Daniels Jr., Kristin (Sean) McCabe, Nicholette Maynard; 16 great-grandchildren; brothers, Merrill (Barbara) Crotty, Kenny (Judy) J. Crotty and many nieces, nephews, family and friends.
