Augustin Munyemana, age 64, passed away on March 29, 2026 at his Reynoldsburg home, surrounded by his family, after more than a year battling cancer. Born on June 1, 1961 in northern Rwanda, to Denis Ntamuvurira and Vérédiane Nyiramizigo, Augustin lived a life defined by hard work, intellect, and a deep love for his family.

After graduating from the National University of Rwanda, Augustin worked at the National Agricultural Research Institute known as ISAR, before pursuing his PhD studies at the University of Hohenheim in Stuttgart, Germany. After obtaining his PhD, Augustin worked at CGIAR, short for Consultative Group on International Agricultural Research, in Nigeria, whose mission is to achieve sustainable food security and reduce poverty in developing countries through scientific research.

Augustin was a man of great ambition. After moving to the United States of America, he became a proud business owner before later dedicating his time working with Cardinal Health in Columbus, Ohio. He was preceded in death by his loving parents, Denis and Vérédiane. Augustin's legacy lives on through his family. He is survived by his devoted wife, Alphonsine Wibabara, and his two beloved sons, Sévérin and Honoré.

Visitation will be held on Saturday morning, April 11, 2026, from 8:00 AM to 9:45 AM at St Pius X Catholic Church, located at 1051 S Waggoner Road, Reynoldsburg, OH 43068. Memorial Mass will take place at 10:00 AM at the same church, followed by graveside services at Holy Cross Catholic Cemetery at 11539 National Road SW, Pataskala, OH 43062. Afterwards, Augustin's family will host a repast at Venice Club located at 5440 Hildebrand Rd, Columbus, OH 43230, where friends and relatives will share fond memories of our departed friend, brother, husband and father, who will be dearly missed. May he rest in peace.
