Barbara Jean Hughes, age 81, passed away on Wednesday, April 15, 2026. Barbara was born December 27, 1944 in Columbus, OH, to the late George and Betty Vansteenburgh. She loved being Granny and finding a good deal. Barbara is preceded in death by her husband of 55 years, Skip Hughes; and sister, Marilyn Hughes. She is survived by her children, Jackie (Ronald) Spears and David Hughes; many loving grandchildren, including Taylor (David), Kaylee, Tiff, and Tara (Kenny); numerous great grandchildren, including Tucker, Gracie, Kaylin, Baby Nick, James, and Kysin; special niece, Jenny and nephew Mike; many lifelong friends. Visitation for Barbara will be Wednesday, April 22, 2026 from 11 a.m. until time of funeral service at 1 p.m. at the O.R. WOODYARD CO. South Chapel, 1346 S. High St. in Columbus, OH. Vicki Highfield will officiate. Interment will follow at Green Lawn Cemetery, Columbus, OH.
