Barbara Ann McGuire. 76, returned to her heavenly home on August 6, 2016 surrounded by her family. She had a strong faith in our Lord, and held firm to her beliefs throughout her life and during her battle with Parkinson's. Barbara, lovingly known as "Barbie" to her friends and family, was raised on the south end of Columbus where she proudly graduated from South High School. Being loyal to her beloved south end, she spent the majority of her working career within the same neighborhood she grew up in. She started her working career at the age of 14 working at Fountain Drug Store at the soda fountain. After graduating from high school, she then worked at Seagraves until they closed returning to Fountain Drug Stores as a manager until they closed. Barbara finished her long career when she retired from Wassestrom Small Wares in 2004. She was a long time member of South Church of Christ and later became a member of Obetz United Methodist Church. Barbara is survived by her loving and devoted husband of 54 years, Lonnie McGuire. She will be missed dearly by her loving children, Randy McGuire and Rhonda McGuire; sisters, Beverly (Jerry) Myers & Debbie (Elson) LeFever; and many nieces and nephews. She precedes in death her father Vernon Smith; mother Helen Smith; mother-in-law Leona Koch-Campbell; and nephew Timothy Myers. Visitation will be held at O.R. WOODYARD CO. CHAPEL, 1346 S. High St., Thursday, August 11, 2016 from 5 to 8 pm. where funeral service will be held Friday 11 am. Interment Obetz Cemetery.
