Beatrice Hope Root passed peacefully in the early morning hours of February 3, 2026, at the age of 87. Bea had a joyous and full life, but it is never enough time.
Bea was born on July 21st ,1938, to Roy and Ella Fry and grew up in a loving home with her 7 sisters on Azelda Street in Columbus, Ohio. She graduated from Linden McKinley High School and went on to marry her true love, Denver. They had 5 children and built a wonderful life together. Bea was a talented seamstress and enjoyed quilting and sewing, as well as gardening. Family vacations, birthdays and holidays were some of her favorite occasions. Bea also loved dancing and time spent with her sisters, including their many vacations, sewing circle and their monthly Saturday card club.
Other loved ones have passed before and welcomed her into Heaven, including her husband, Denver, parents Roy and Ella, sisters Mildred (Ralph) Hogue, Jacqueline (Herb) Rhodes, Lou Ann (Paul) Uhrig, Bernice (Dick) Stiltner, brothers-in-law, John Ankrum and Lee Hiell, son in law, Robert Knode and an infant son.
Bea will be missed considerably by her sisters, Jean Ankrum, Sue (John) Adkins and Jody Hiell.
Bea and Denver have left a dear legacy in children Catherine (Kent) Zech, William Root, Diane (Kenn) Taylor, Gregory (Anne) Root, Karen Johnson, and Julie (Kerry) Cibulskas. Grandchildren Jeff (Julia) Zech, Dennis (Amy) Zech, Daniel (Jessica) Knode, Alec (Teaonna) Knode, Elisabeth Root, Ashlynn (Brayden) Root, and Michael, Jonathan, Natalie and Erica Cibulskas. Bea was also blessed to have 9 great grandchildren.
Services to celebrate Bea's life will be held at Myers-Woodyard Funeral home at 587 Main Street in Groveport. Calling hours are 4-6pm on Friday, February 6th, funeral beginning promptly at 6pm, casual attire. Private burial to be held later.
The family would like to thank the staff of Riverside Hospital and the phenomenal and loving ICU care team at Mt. Carmel East Hospital. Also, special thanks to her physician of many years, Patricia Hollingsworth.
