Hon. Benjamin Noudeh Tarr was born on September 19th, 1972, at the Maternity Center in Monrovia, Liberia. He was born to Ambassador Harold G. Tarr Sr and Mrs. Esther D. Thomas.

Hon. Tarr attended Primary School at St. Phillips Preparatory School in Sinkor, Monrovia, Liberia and St. Johns Preparatory School in Accra, Ghana. He continued his secondary education at Aggrey Memorial Secondary School in Cape Coast, Ghana, Konola Academy in Kakata, Margibi County, Liberia and Northwestern High School in Hyattsville, Maryland, USA, where he graduated with honors and served as a member of the National Honor Society.

Hon. Tarr attended college at DeVry Institute of Technology, now known as DeVry University in Columbus, Ohio. He graduated with a bachelor's degree in Computer Information Systems and later earned his double master's in Computer Networking and Business Administration. He also holds a plethora of certifications in various aspects of his profession.

In his early career, Hon. Tarr worked for Unix to Unix Network, CompuServe, Bank One, and Chase Bank. He then served as an Associate Professor at DeVry University and ITT Tech in Columbus and Dayton, Ohio; upon his passing, he worked as a Network Engineer with Designer Brands (DSW), an Entrepreneur and a founding member of both the Mildred Cole Memorial Foundation in the United States and Liberia and the Concerned Liberian Professional Assistance Organization (CLPAO).

Hon. Tarr's devotion to his community led him to serve as the two-time Deputy Director of the Liberians in Columbus INC (LICI), a 501c3 organization which provides vital services to the Liberian and other immigrant communities in Columbus. He also loved playing soccer, listening to music, organizing for the community, and being a Disc Jockey (DJ). He was one of the best DJs in and out of the Columbus area and served as a mentor to other DJs.

Hon. Tarr's legacies are continued on by his lovely wife Mrs.Famatta Tarr and their five children, Marquise Tarr, JD Jusu, Charlesetta Jusu, Benjamin Tarr Jr and Blessings Tarr. He is also survived by his parents, Ambassador Harold G (Elizabeth) Tarr Sr, Mrs. Esther D (Benny) Thomas, his siblings, Mrs. Eugenia (J.J) Pour, Ms. Cecelia Gaye, Mr. Leo (Rhoda) Tarr, Mr. Maxwell (Manisha) Barclay, Ms. Evangeline Tarr, Mr. Harold (Gloria) Tarr Jr., Mr. Harry (Andrea) Tarr, Mr. Noel (Venette) Tarr, Ms. Harolyn (Kollie) Nimmo and Ms. Bennetta Thomas. He is also survived by numerous cousins, nieces, nephews and a host of other relatives.

Hon. Tarr's Wake will be held on Friday, November 8, 2024 from 6 PM to 10 PM at Brice United Methodist Church, 3160 Brice Rd., Brice, Ohio, 43109. Visitation is on Saturday, November 9 from 10 AM to 11 AM, at the church. The Service follows immediately after at 11 AM. Graveside Services at Forest Lawn Memorial Gardens, 5600 E. Broad St., in Columbus, Ohio.
