ZUHARS ZEHALA, BETTY Betty Grace Zehala, age 90, passed away at her home April 14, 2018. She was born in Portsmouth, Ohio, daughter of the late Frank and Grace Handley. Preceded in death by her parents, brothers Pete and Herb, husband of 35 years, Samuel Zuhars and husband of 21 years William Zehala, stepson William Zehala Jr., and great granddaughter Marin Rhodes. Always positive, Betty was devoted to her family and friends. She deeply loved her grandchildren and great grandchildren and that love continues to shape their lives. She was a life-long enthusiastic fan of the Buckeyes. Betty served as the Director of Volunteers for Doctors Hospitals until her retirement in 1988 and was a long time member of the Swiss Club. She was known for her great sense of humor, love of life and for making everyone feel welcome in her home. Her family will deeply miss her. Surviving are son, Peter Zuhars (Debbie), daughter, Jennifer Zuhars, grandchildren Brianna (Derrick) Hackworth and Mycah Myers (Eric Rhodes) and great grandchildren, Jonah and Olive Hackworth and Finn Rhodes. She is also survived by stepchildren, Jeff (Anita) Zehala, Sue (Michael) Wickliffe, and Mary (Dave) Lorenz, five step grandchildren and four step great grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews. A celebration of Betty's life for family and friends will be held at a later date. Final arrangements entrusted to O.R. Woodyard Co.
