Blanche Elizabeth Montgomery Schilke On May 19, 2021 at 1:28pm, angels carried our beloved mother, Blanche Schilke to her heavenly home. She was surrounded by the love of her family. She was born in Steubenville, Ohio to the late James and Sadie (Dugan) Montgomery on December 28, 1931. She was preceded in death by her in laws Fred and Catherine (Eline) Schilke. Blanche graduated from Elyria High School in 1949. She possessed a steadfast faith. Her life was a living breathing prayer. She was a member of the Elyria Women's Club, involved in the Cursillo movement, and she spent her time volunteering to help several organizations throughout the community. Besides gardening, her love as a mother, grandmother, and great grandmother was her super power. She taught her children that the little things are a requisite for life. Which is why she was the inspiration for the poem When You Thought I Wasn't Looking written by her daughter Mary Rita Sill. She had a ripple effect, scattering seeds of love and kindness through her journey. She made the world a better place. She leaves 6 children, Michael (John) Schilke of New York, New York; Carol (Robert) Indian of Westerville, Ohio; Mary (John) Sill of Granger, Indiana; Jim (Gail) Schilke of Elyria, Ohio; Karen (Ray) Mowry of Colorado Springs, Colorado; and Rick (Igaitte) Schilke of Annapolis, Maryland. 15 grandchildren, Catherine (Brian) Theiler; Nicole (Andrew) Abernethy; Dawn (Jason) Ebron; Daniel Schilke; Jessica Orwig; Heather (James) Gribben; Jennifer (Gary) Riggs; Ryan (Heidi) Mowry; Michael (Liz) Mowry; Gordon (Elizabeth) Sill; Andrea (Richard) Bray; Matthew Schilke; Joshua Korzan; Gabriel Schilke; Hannah Schilke. And 20 great grandchildren to cherish her memory. On Friday, June 18, 2021, a private Catholic Mass for the family will be held at Church of the Resurrection in New Albany, Ohio at 11am. We invite all family and friends to gather Friday, June 18 from 2 pm until the time of a public celebration of life at 3 pm at O.R. Woodyard Funeral Northwest Chapel 2990 Bethel Rd. Columbus. Private inurnment at Union Cemetery in Steubenville, Ohio. In her honor, we ask that you continue to scatter the good seeds on the land.
