Brandy (Brenda) Ward, age 75, went to be with the Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Friday, October 11, 2024, in her home surrounded by her family in Columbus, Ohio.  She was born on June 14, 1949, to the late Bill and Wealthia (Maynard) Cox.  Brenda was married to the love of her life Homer Ward on April 17, 1965, who was always her most gracious caregiver until the very end.  Brenda was preceded in death by her stillborn son, Charles, and granddaughter Danielle Smith.  She is survived by her two sons, Tony (Keri) Ward of Newark, Ohio and Ken (Theresa) Ward of Chillicothe, Ohio; sisters, Louise Harrell of Columbus, Ohio and Minerva (Ricky) Jay of Lugoff, South Carolina; grandchildren, Amberlyn (Cody) Reed of Amanda, Ohio and Jessica (Jon) Friesner of Lancaster, Ohio. 13 great-grandchildren, numerous nieces, nephews as well as great and great-great nieces and nephews and other extended family member and friends.  Brenda is also survived by forever best friend and sister of the heart, Marsha (Richard) Hitchens of Lancaster, Ohio.  Brenda was a lontime residnet of Pleasantville, Ohio where her home was always open to anyone for a meal or a haircut.  She was also a longtime member of the Church of the Nazarene.  In lieu of flowers, memorials contributions may be made in Brenda's name to Herbron Nazarene Church, 115 Cumberland St., Hebron, Ohio 43025.  The family will hold a Celebration of Life service on Tuesday, October 15, 2024 at 12 noon at Hebron Church of the Nazarene. 115 Cumberland Street, Hebron, Ohio 43025.  Reception and luncheon will follow the service.
