Brenda Gail Backus, age 71, passed away on May 19, 2024. Born August 28, 1952 in Ashland, KY to the late Aaron and Alma Spillman. She was a longtime member of Grace Ministries; where she served as a Sunday School Teacher. She enjoyed arts and crafts, making blankets and jewelry. Brenda loved to sing and spend time with her grandchildren. Brenda is preceded in death by husband, Frank Backus; daughters, Alma Ramey and Chrissy Clark; siblings, Gary, Aaron Jr., Donald, and Marty Spillman. She is survived by daughters, Rachel (Travis) Webb and Tonya (Walter) Thompson; sons, Gregory (Connie) Backus,  Johnathan (Cindy) Backus, and Frank Backus; many grandchildren and great grandchildren; siblings, Carolyn Spillman, Anita Baker, Patty Spillman, and Scott Spillman. Visitation will be held Saturday, May 25, 2024, 10:00 am until time of funeral service at 12:00 noon at O. R. Woodyard Co. South Chapel 1346 S. High St. Pastor Faron Tabor officiating.
