Carol "Kay" Ann Andersen, age 68, passed away on July 4, 2021. She was born on December 23, 1952 to the late James "Sheldon" and Mary Ann Duty of Columbus. Carol had a heart for music and loved playing the guitar. She would help anyone in need and was one of the kindest, most soft spoken people one could know. Carol loved her family dearly and sacrificed anything she needed to while raising her three boys. She took on odd jobs, babysat, and did whatever needed done to make ends meet. Carol loved a good deal and would hunt for them at thrift stores, yard sales, and through coupon clipping. She worked and retired from OPERS after many years. She attended the Church of Christ on Lockbourne Road for over 40 years and had a strong belief that no matter what the sin, people could be forgiven and find redemption. Carol is preceded in death by her parents, James "Sheldon" and Mary Ann, sisters, Barbara Gail and Mary Jane, brother, Carlos Duty; She is survived by her ex husband, Andy L. Andersen; sons, Andy (Jennifer) Andersen, Fred (Anna) Andersen, and Charlie (Kendra) Andersen; grandchildren, Makayla (Joey), Katelyn (Josh), Torri (Zack), Zoe (Justin), Cloey, Emily, Lita, A.J., Michael (Savannah), Alizabeth and Celina; great grandchildren, Sadie Lee, Layla Rae, and Jensen Thomas Charles; brothers, Jim (Wilma) and David Duty; sister, Lisa (Jason) Corne; longtime friend, Gary Adams; many other dear friends and family. Friends may call from 5 to 8 PM on Thursday, July 8, 2021 and for an hour before the service from 1 PM until time of service at 2 PM on Friday, July 9 at the O. R.
