Carol Ann (Boone) Byrd took hold of God's Unchanging Hand on the early morning of Wednesday, May 6, 2025, at the age of 74. She was born on September 2, 1950 in Ronceverte, West Virginia, the baby of nine children born to Isom and Virginia Boone.
Carol graduated from East High School in 1968 and completed college courses through The Ohio State University Bridge Program. She retired from Ohio State University Hospital as an Administrative Assistant in December 2016 after 30 years of dedicated service. In 2017, her career continued as an Administrative Assistant at Little Steps Big Steps Day Care and eventually found her way to the Infant Room where she remained until November 2024. She was a devoted wife, loving mother, and grandmother. She will be remembered for her hard work, dedication and love for her children and family.
Carol was predeceased by her mother and father, Isom and Virginia Boone; Sisters and Brothers-in-Law, Helen (Charles) Blake, Virginia (Billy) Sanders, Roberta (Harry) Blake, Brother, John Boone; Sisters-in-Law, Tommy Boone, Sandra Boone; Grandparents, Mable Payne Johnson, Eugene Spotts; Aunt, Doris Johnson; Father-in-Law, Charles Byrd, Sr.; Brother-in-Law, Charles Byrd, Jr.
Her memory will forever be cherished by her husband of 43 years, David; Daughters, Asyia (Troy) Oden, Schnel Coston, Ericka (Larry) Thomas; Grandchildren, Jasmine Peterson, Donald Prentiss III, Abra Prentiss, Kobe Prentiss, Jonathan Coston, Jonigh McGee; Great-grandchildren, Nayana Prentiss, Akavious Coffee, Treylen Prentiss; Sister and Brothers, Mary Boone, Isom Boone, Albert Boone, Van (Paula) Boone;
Sister-in-Law, Shirley Boone; Mother-in-law, Dorothy Byrd, Sister-in-Law, Cheryl Byrd; nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.
Carol dedicated her life to Christ. She is now resting peacefully in the Loving arms of God.
The family invites everyone to the Celebration of Life gathering at Pfiefer Woodyard Funeral Home, in Reynoldsburg, Ohio, on Saturday, May 17, 2025 from 11 am to 2 pm. Please bring your memories to share with everyone.
