Carole F. Salyers Ratcliffe Dunlap, 87, of Canal Winchester, Ohio, left her family and friends on Earth to be with Jesus in Heaven on August 4, 2024.  Carole was born on September 6, 1936 in Jackson County, Ohio.  She is survived by sisters, Barb (Gary) Pigg, Joyce (James) Holbrook, and Pam Salyers Ross; brothers, Leonard (Maralyn) Salyers and Bruce (Carol) Salyers; many nieces and nephews; stepson, Terry Dunlap, and several step-grandchildren.  She was predeceased by her parents, Leonard and Ethel Salyers; sisters, Rosalie Salyers, Patsy Salyers, and Wilma Holbrook; and husbands, Herbert Ratcliffe and Rev. Raymond Dunlap.  Carole graduated from Jackson High School and retired from Nationwide Insurance after nearly 40 years of service.  She also served faithfully for many years as a minister's wife in the Methodist denomination.  Carole enjoyed going to the theater, especially musicals, and traveled extensively to many countries.  She loved reading, dogs, movies with happy endings, and being close to the ocean so she could sunbathe and listen to the waves as they came ashore.  Nothing made her happier than spending time with her family.  Carole will be remembered by the many people who loved her not just as the life of every party who wasn't afraid to say exactly what she thought, but also for her generous nature and a woman of faith who walked through each day putting her trust in Jesus.  She will be greatly missed by all who knew her.  A visitation for Carole will be held on Saturday August 17, 2024 from 10:00 a.m. until time of Celebration of Life Service at 11:00 AM at the O.R. Woodyard Co. Funeral Services, 1346 South High Street, Columbus, Ohio 43207; Greg Elliot officiating.  Burial at Violet Cemetery, Pickerington, Ohio immediately following the service.
