Obituary

Carolyn Elizabeth Moehring McMeans, 75, of Columbus, Ohio, passed away peacefully on November 7, 2024, after a courageous two-year battle with ovarian cancer.

Born on November 23, 1948, in North Bergen, New Jersey, to Edwin and Marion Monskie, Carolyn attended Concordia University. She dedicated her life to serving others through various occupations and social work endeavors.

A devout Lutheran, Carolyn was an active member of her church community. She was an avid reader, particularly drawn to mystery novels, and enjoyed the calming hobby of crocheting gifts for loved ones. Proud of her Polish heritage, she was a generous volunteer, served as president of her condominium association, and was a tireless advocate for the homeless.

Carolyn's love for animals was evident in her affection for her pets, Shiloh and Molly. Her greatest joy, however, was her family. She cherished her children and grandchildren, and they were the center of her world.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Edwin J. and Marion Monskie. Carolyn is survived by her brother, Edwin C. Monskie of Lancaster, Pennsylvania; her children, Martin (Karen) Moehring, Becca (Tom) Stein, and Nathan Moehring; her grandchildren, Jordan, Oliver, Elena, Raeya, Adyn, Sasha Moehring, and Maci Stein; and her great-grandchild, Elliott Moehring.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Arthur G. James Cancer Hospital in Carolyn's name.

May the Serenity Prayer be a comfort to her family and friends:

God grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change,

Courage to change the things I can,

And wisdom to know the difference.
