Obituary

Caryn Lynn MacDonald, 70, of Columbus, Ohio passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family on Friday, September 27, 2024.

Caryn was a loving mother to Tiffany Reid and Amy (David) Lanning, grandmother to Alyssa, Brooke, Jacob, and Skylar, and great grandmother to Greyson. She was also cherished by her sister Carla (Wayne) McCloud, and brothers Craig (Sondie) Harris, and Chris (Sandy) Harris. Caryn was preceded in death by her parents, Carl and Lavone Harris, and her brother Chet Harris.

Although it's never easy to describe someone so loved by so many, the word heart is one that immediately comes to mind for many reasons. Caryn had a heart of gold and was willing to do anything for anyone. Her heart was overflowing with love for her family, and she had a light in her eyes whenever she spoke of them. She loved visits from her grandchildren and always treasured the time that they would spend with her sharing the events of their lives. She had a way of making you feel as though you were the most important person in her life, and when she said to you "I love you" you knew that she meant it. Caryn had a fighting spirit unlike others, and she fought to stay with her family until the very end of her journey. We will always have our memories of her sense of humor and her smile that lit up a room like no other.

Visitation will be held Thursday, October 3, from 5 to 7 pm at O. R. Woodyard South Chapel 1346 S. High St. where funeral service will be held Friday, October 4 at 9:00 am with interment to follow at Greenlawn Cemetery.

A devoted follower of Christ, Caryn was a member of the Eastland Christian Church.

"He said to her, 'Daughter, your faith has healed you. Go in peace and be freed from your suffering.'"
