Cathy Elaine Galloway, age 72, beloved mother, sister, aunt, grandmother, and great-grandmother, passed away peacefully at her home in Reynoldsburg, Ohio, on August 8, 2026.
Cathy was born on August 3, 1954, to Nelson Junior and Anna Elizabeth Cook at Camp Lejeune, North Carolina. She spent the majority of her life in Alabama before making the Columbus, Ohio, area her home for the past 15 years.
Cathy's greatest joy was her family. She was a loving and devoted mother of seven, and her family was the center of her world. She will be remembered for the love she gave so freely, the memories she created, and the special place she held in the hearts of all who knew her.
Cathy was preceded in death by her parents, Nelson Junior and Anna Elizabeth Cook; and her brothers, Robert Steven Cook and Ronald Craig Cook.
She leaves behind a beautiful legacy in her children: Christina Reeves (Bill) of Dadeville, Alabama; Heather Worley of Circleville, Ohio; Jennifer Tadlock (Johnny) of Pike Road, Alabama; Justin Schmalenberger (Jessica) of Prattville, Alabama; Nichole Hunter (Chris) of Alabaster, Alabama; Brittany Dickert (Chris) of Montgomery, Alabama; and Dalton Galloway (Tiffanie) of Columbus, Ohio.

Cathy is also survived by her brothers, James Cook of Groveport, Ohio, and Scott Cook (Kim) of Reynoldsburg, Ohio, along with many cherished nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, extended family members, and dear friends.
Though her absence leaves an immeasurable space in the hearts of those who loved her, Cathy's memory will live on through her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and the many lives she touched throughout her years.
Goodbye for now to our beautiful Mother.
Your love will remain with us, today and always.
