Charles Raymond Dossett "Ray", age 89, passed away peacefully on October 11, 2024. He was born in Steubenville, OH, on September 28, 1935 to the late John "Doc" and Ruth "Mert" Dossett.

Ray graduated from Steubenville Highschool, following graduation he went to Franklin University, where he graduated with a degree in Business administration. Later, after serving in the army for 2 years, he graduated from Central Michigan Universty with a Master of Arts degree. After college Ray went on to work as an engineer, where he would build and fix microwave transmission towers for Tower Communications. This career allowed him to travel all over the country, while working on towers.

Ray went on to marry the love of his life, Charlene. Over the years the two had many beloved dogs, whom they treated like their children. One thing Ray was most proud of was being a life long Mason for 56 years. In his free time he could be found working in his home machine shop, collecting steam engines and going to steam shows. While heading towards retirement age, Ray was able to fulfill his life long dream of becoming a farmer to over 200 acres of land.

He is preceded in death by his late parents and brothers, Gene R. and Richard Dossett. Ray is survived by his loving wife of 51 years, Charlene (Green) Dossett, nephew, Jeremy(April) Dossett and niece, Amy (Matt) Bethel.

Friends and family can call on Thursday, October 17, 2024 from 10:30AM until time of service at 12:30PM at the O.R. WOODYARD Co. Funeral Home 1346 S. High St. Columbus, OH 43207. Interment will follow at Glen Rest Cemetery.
