Charles R. McElroy, age 72, passed away September 11, 2014 at home. Born January 23, 1942 to the late Charles R. and WANDA (Halon) McElroy. He is preceded in death by wife, Caroline "Kacky" McElroy, and brothers, Paul and Robert "Bobby" McElroy. He is survived by son, Charles L. (Gina) McElroy of Ashville; stepchildren, Robin Steward and Roy (Trina) Fisher of Columbus; grandchildren, Emilee McElroy (Russell) Green, Sarah (Joey) Lewis, Danny Lee, Sherri Lee, Roy III, Candace, Jesse, Zachariah, and Wade; great grandchildren, Tyler, Haley, Alex, Rachel, Kohen, Robbie, Xavier, Keidein, Khloe, Jesse Jr., Benjamin, Harlie, Jonathan and Josh; sisters, Nancy Geer, Kathy (Don) Bowers, Brenda McElroy and Ellen (Gary) Montgomery; brother, Jim McElroy; several nieces and nephews and many dear friends. He was a veteran serving in the US ARMY. He was a member of the Southside Eagles Aux #2244 since June 1, 1988 where he served as secretary for 18 years. Visitation will be held Monday, September 15, from 5 to 8 pm at O R WOODYARD CO SOUTH CHAPEL 1346 S. High St. here funeral service will be held Tuesday 11 am Pastor Jeff Leslie officiating.
