Charles F. Price, age 89, of Columbus, Ohio, passed peacefully in his sleep on Friday afternoon, Sept.9, 2011. Born April20, 1922, the 7th of 11 children to John F. and Cora B. (Orr)Price. He graduated from Columbus Boys Trade School, becoming a Wood Pattern Maker, or "Wood Butcher as he always said. He retired from Jeffrey Manufacturing and Columbus Pattern Works, after 40 plus yrs. He excelled in his craft. He was a veteran of WW II, serving with the US Marine Corp. in the Pacific theater, Tinian, and the Marianas Is. Member of American Legion Post #144. He was an avid sports fan, especially for the Buckeyes and the Cincinnati Reds, often watching a game on TV while listening to another on the radio. He is preceded in death by his parents; grandson, Cory C. Lindsey; former wife, Marian J.(Davis) Price (2010); 4 brothers, Walter, Claude, Harry, and Alan; 4 sisters, Florence, Goldie, Catherine, and Ruth. He is survived and will be missed by 3 children, son, Terry V. Price, Bradenton, Fla., daughter, Penni D. (Price) Lindsey, and Son, Kyle L. (Kathleen) Price both of Cols.; granddaughter, Kelley N. (Lonnie) Seymour, Grove City, Oh. And 3 great grandchildren. He is also survived by his brother and good friend, John R. (Regina) Price, Cols.; numerous nieces and nephews. The family would like to thank Odyssey Hospice, nurse, Kim; aide, Becky, for the loving care given to Dad in his final days, Scioto Community nurses, Nancy and Ken; aides, Ann, Patty and Randy, who cared for Dad in spite of his cantankerous and ornery ways. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations to Dad's favorite charities: The Charity Newsies, The Alzheimer Assoc., or Post #144 of the American Legion in his memory. Well done Pop, you gave it a helluva fight! God grant you eternal rest.
