Christine Marie
Martin
Jun 14, 1956 — Apr 3, 2026
Christine (Willard) Martin passed away April 3, 2026 surrounded by the family she loved so deeply. Family was everything to Chris. Growing up as one of eight kids—six sisters and a brother—she was part of a big, lively crew that shaped her lifelong love for togetherness. That love only grew as she built her own family. She would do absolutely anything for the people she loved, no questions asked.
Chris married her high school sweetheart, David Martin, and together they built a beautiful life over 50 years of marriage, celebrating that incredible milestone in 2025. Their story was one of loyalty, laughter, and sticking by each other through it all. They were best friends.
Chris was a proud mom to Tony and Stephanie, and later daughter in-law Susie, but her favorite role over the last 21 years was being "Nana." Sammi, Caleb, and Noah were her whole world. She loved showing up to football games, lacrosse games, dance performances and competitions, and anything in between to cheer them on.
Chris had a strong faith and often talked about her angels, something that brought her comfort and strength throughout her life. She always called herself the "tag", but Chris made friends everywhere, always knew people by name, and brought laughter and fun to every gathering, making everyone feel truly seen. Some of her happiest memories were made at the beach house in St. Augustine, surrounded by her dear Florida family.
Chris was a huge sports fan and rarely missed watching her teams—the Detroit Tigers, Detroit Red Wings, and especially her Ohio State Buckeyes. And of course, she became a proud BGSU Falcon when Sammi joined the dance team.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Frank and Josephine Willard, and her sisters Connie, Mary, Theresa, and Frankie.
Chris is survived by her husband, Dave; her children, Tony (Susie) and Stephanie; her grandchildren, Sammi, Caleb, and Noah; her siblings Ginger, Annette, and Tom; along with so many loved sisters in-law, brothers in-law, nieces, and nephews.
The family is grateful for the care and kindness shown by FairHOPE Hospice, and especially nurse Keely, during Chris's final days.
The family asks that in lieu of flowers, donations be made to FairHOPE Hospice or Sycamore Creek Church.
Chris will be remembered for her big heart, her unwavering love for her family, and the way she made everyone feel special. She leaves behind a lifetime of memories and a family who will carry her love with them always.
