Cora Lee Shields, age 88, passed away Wednesday, July 17, 2013. Born July 24, 1924 in Coatopa, AL to the late Rev. Alonzo and Hattie Rice. She is preceded in death by loving husband, William Shields, Sr; son, William Shields, Jr; brothers, Tom, Clarence, Robert, John, Joseph, Warren, Milton, Cleveland; and sister, Augusta Hunter. Cora Lee retired from Schottenstein's/Value City Department Stores as a customer service representative. She was a long-time member of First AME Zion Church, serving in the choir, as well as doing missionary work. She is survived by brothers, Leo (Sallie) Rice, Alonzo (Georgia) Rice of Columbus, OH; Walter and Nathaniel of Coatopa, AL; sister, Nancy of Coatopa, AL; godson, Lloyd (Karen) Paschal, and many more friends and relatives. High St., Tuesday, July 23, 5-8 pm and one hour prior to the funeral service which will be held Wednesday at 12 noon at First AME Zion Church, 873 Bryden Rd., Rev. Lawrence Spann officiating.
