D. Carlene
Woodyard
Jun 10, 1934 — Mar 31, 2025
D. Carlene (Tolin) Woodyard, age 90, of Canal Winchester, OH, died March 31, 2025. She was born in Somerville, MA to the late Berla M. (Bonness) and George C. Tolin on June 10, 1934. A graduate of Somerville High School, she briefly attended Boston College before working as a switchboard operator for the New England Telephone Company. Although she lived most of her adult life in central Ohio, she stayed true to her New England roots, returning regularly to visit family in the Boston area and vacationing each summer on Mount Desert Island, ME. A descendant of the pilgrim Edward Doty and a member of the Mayflower Society, she was an avid reader and film history buff who also loved hiking, gardening, seafood, and a good cup of tea. Preceded in death by husband of 55 years, Jerry A. Woodyard, and siblings Jackie MacGillvray, Earlene Rieffenberger, George Carlton Tolin, and Rosemarie Harrison. Survived by siblings Paul (Patty) St. Germaine and Lorraine (Robert) Bohleen; children Christopher (Janet) Woodyard and Kerith (Ryan) Woodyard; grandchildren Ashley (Justin), Alex, and Aspen (Josh); great-grandsons Keagan and Brixton; brothers-in-law Thomas (Patricia Greiner) and Timothy (Nancy) Woodyard; cousin Carlene (Bonness) Bryant; and several nieces, nephews, cousins, and other relations. Private interment planned. Arrangements entrusted to O.R. WOODYARD CO. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to the American Macular Degeneration Foundation or the American Civil Liberties Union.
