Obituary

Daniel Smith, age 59, passed away peacefully at his home on Saturday, July 26, 2025, of natural causes.

Born in Kansas, Daniel was the beloved son of CM-SGT Karl W. Smith and Martha L. Smith. Growing up as a proud military brat, he made friends everywhere he went and left a lasting impression on everyone he met. Daniel was known for his quiet strength, generous heart, and deep loyalty to his family, friends, and community.

Daniel had a profound love for animals, dedicating much of his time to volunteering with local organizations. He was an active supporter of Friends for Life Animal Haven in Canal Winchester, offering both fundraising support and hands-on help. He also fostered rescued puppies through Speak for the Unspoken in Grove City. His compassion extended to all-he would give the shirt off his back to anyone in need and never asked for anything in return.

He was always the first to lend a hand, share a laugh, or cheer someone on. His presence lit up every room, and his kindness left a lasting mark on everyone he met.

Daniel recently celebrated 34 years of marriage to the love of his life, Kaye Anne Smith-a testament to their enduring bond and deep love.

Daniel worked at All Hydraulic, where he was a wellspring of knowledge, a mentor, a loyal coworker, and a true friend. His patience was boundless, and his customers held him in the highest regard.

He was preceded in death by his father, CM-SGT Karl W. Smith, and his sisters, Belinda Smith and Karla Lee Smith.

He is survived by his devoted wife, Kaye Anne Smith; their four-legged babies-Chrissy, Avi, Pony, and Sweat Pea; his mother, Martha L. Smith; his sister, Elizabeth Ann Pepper (Billy); his brother, Gregory W. Smith (Melanie); and his nieces and nephews-Reid, Kalynn, and Joseph. He also leaves behind many cherished friends and loved ones who will miss him dearly.

Daniel's legacy of love, selflessness, and joy will live on in the hearts of all who knew him.
