Mr. David, Dave, Hofius passed away peacefully at home on July 2, 2020 in Grove City. Dave was 79 years old. Dave is survived by his wife of 60 years, Faye, children Jeff (Karol) Hofius, Jody (Mike) Mathews, and Larry Hofius; grandchildren, Jason Krotky, Kris Krotky, Jennifer (Nate) Lawrence, Kyle Hofius, and Joshua (Abby Montgomery) Mathews, niece Pamella Fannin. He is proceeded in death by his brother, Donald Hofius of Colorado, sister, Karen Hofius-Aldstadt of Grove City. Dave was born November 6, 1940 Grove City, Ohio of the late Pauline and Lawrence Hofius. Dave was a hard-working man who worked at Stallman Gear for 27 years and later retired from Goss Supply. He was a loving and kind father and grandfather. His children and grandchildren remember him as a gentle and driven man who encouraged them to be the best that they could be each day. Dave would give a stranger the shirt off his back and would drop everything to help a friend in need. He had a great sense of humor and if he poked fun at you, you knew that you were loved. Dave loved all things outdoors. He was an avid hunter and loved to fish. Dave enjoyed coaching little league football and watching The Ohio State Buckeyes on TV. In addition, he enjoyed horse racing, golfing and supporting his grandchildren in all their sporting events. Dave was a wonderful gardener and enjoyed cooking and baking. Some folks may remember him as owner of Witty and Nadine's Pizza. Visitation will be Wednesday, July 8, 2020 from 5-8 pm at the O. R. WOODYARD CO. CHAPEL 1346 S. High Street where the funeral service will be Thursday at 10 am. Interment will follow in Fernwood Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, please send donations to Mt.
