David was born October 24, 1950, in Columbus, Ohio, to the late Donald Kemmerling and Rita (Wirth) Kemmerling.

He is survived by his wife, Leona Geraldine "Jerri" Kemmerling; his son, Matthew "Matt" Kemmerling and wife Angie; his daughter, Amy Slabaugh and her partner, Wayne Withem; his grandchildren, Ethan Kemmerling, Emma Kemmerling, Justin Slabaugh, and

Christina Slabaugh (partner, Chris Dougherty);  his great-grandchildren, Bentley Slabaugh and Kali Dougherty; his brothers, Paul and Pat Kemmerling; and his sister, Kay Wolfe.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his brothers Donald and Ronald Kemmerling; and his sister Sheila.

Calling hours will be held on Thursday, September 3, 2026, from 3:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. at Myers-Woodyard Funeral Home – Groveport Chapel, 587 Main Street, Groveport, Ohio 43125, followed by a service from 5:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m.
