David Lee Rambsel, age 85, born December 23, 1926, in Dysart, PA, to the late Lee Alvin Rambsel and the late Nellie Schrock. A U.S. Navy veteran of WWII, David graduated from Ashland College in 1953. He retired from 32 years of teaching, most recently from Trimble Local High School in Athens County, and Ohio University evening classes. David was an elder in the Church of God, AWA. He enjoyed reading and spending time with family and friends. Survived by his loving wife of 63 years, Elverda Mae (Grumbling); sons, Daryl (Rosemary) of Steubenville, Robin; daughters, Rebecca (Tim) Stewart, Denise of Columbus; five grandchildren, Regina (David) Hennen and Dennis (Jasmine) Rambsel of Steubenville, Erica Stewart, Angela (Kenny) Maggard and Amber Stewart of Columbus; seven great-grandchildren; four sisters, Dorothy Pandin of Florida, Gloria Jean (Vern) Bostow of San Antonio, Texas, Janie Rambsel-Susi of Oregon, Sally Barnaby of Texas; nieces, nephews, extended family and many friends. Preceded in death by one brother James Rambsel. Friends may call at O.R. WOODYARD CO. CHAPEL, 1346 S. High St., Saturday 5-8 p.m., where service will be held Sunday at 11 a.m. Pastor William Jahns officiating. Donations to Grace Hospice are suggested in David's memory.
