Derek Cremeans, 40 years old of Columbus, Ohio passed away on January 29th, 2024, at 4:20am. Derek went to be with the Lord after a courageous battle with kidney disease. Derek was born on November 28th, 1983, in Columbus, Ohio to Terry Tower. On June 13th, 2012, Derek married the love of his life and best friend, Amy Cremeans (Snell) on the 50-yard line at the horseshoe.  Derek was a huge Buckeye fan and worked at the horseshoe for many years. Although Amy had 3 daughters already, Derek took on the role of being their dad from the start. Derek and Amy also had two sons together. Being a dad meant so much to Derek. He spent his whole life providing, loving and supporting his kids. He set a great example of how a husband should treat his daughters and how his sons should treat their wives. Derek would help with anything for those he loved, and his absence will be felt tremendously until his family is reunited with him in heaven. Despite spending a lot of time in and out of the hospital the past 4 years, Derek never lost his sense of humor-he was even playing pranks on his nurses in his final days. He had a great ability to make others laugh and smile and his sense of humor will definitely be missed. He also never lost his love of good food; his favorite was pizza specifically Josie's pizza. He requested pizza in the hospital which he was able to enjoy with his loved ones by his side. Derek is survived by his wife Amy Cremeans (Snell) of 11 years, daughters Larissa (Sam Zeid), Ciana (Qua'ron Smith), and Willow (Logan Ratcliff), sons Ken and Silas Cremeans, granddaughter Juliana Ratcliff, mother Terry Tower, mother in law Marcia Snell, brothers Travis (Shannon Cremeans), Eugene McGuire, sister Amanda Keener, sister in laws Sara Snell, Jessica (Stephen Jinks), Katie (Isaiah Campbell), and grandma Angie Cremeans-Sharp, numerous nieces, nephews, great nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends. Derek was preceded in death by his grandparents William and Mary Tower, grandpa Tom Cremeans, brother Chrislie Creameans, uncle Larry Tower, cousin Katherine Cremeans, brother-in-law Gary Snell Jr., nieces Shantelle Kennedy and Leona McGuire, and several close friends.
