Dimitra A. Kontomerkos, age 78, passed away on May 14, 2023. Born on July 20, 1944 in Greece to the late George and Roula Gerogianni. She migrated to the US after she met and married her husband, Andrew, in Athens, Greece in 1965. Dimitra was very giving, devoting a lot of her time to her family, grandchildren, church, and community. She loved to bake pastries and spend time with her grandchildren. Dimitra is preceded in death by husband, Andrew A. Kontomerkos; siblings, Aspasia, Yianni, Catina, and Thana. Dimitra is survived by sons, Athanasios (Jennifer) Kontomerkos, and George Kontomerkos; grandchildren, Dimitra (Derek) Pack, Andrew and Alexandra Kontomerkos; great grandson, Jack Pack; sister, Despina; brother, Costaki; godson, Philip Collis; many other relatives and friends.  Visitation will be held Sunday, May 21, 2:00 pm - 5:00 pm with Trisagion service at 4:30 at O. R. Woodyard Co. Northwest Chapel, 2990 Bethel Rd. Funeral services will be held on Monday, May 22,  10:30 am at the Annunciation Greek Orthodox Cathedral, 555 N. High Street. Interment the Green Lawn Cemetery. In lieu of flowers donations in Dimitra's memory may be made to the Annunciation Greek Orthodox Cathedral.
