Obituary

Don (Ozzie) Osborn, a resilient old-school farm boy with a no-nonsense attitude and a loving heart, passed away on June 25, 2024, at 8:27 PM. He leaves behind a legacy of cherished memories and deep connections. He is survived by his longtime girlfriend Kathleen (Kat) Hawkins, Mother Ruth (Donald) McQuay, Aunt Bonnie, Brother Richard McQuay, Sons Adam Bailey, Tony Baker, and Chris Chevallard. Daughters Lisa (Joe) Baker, Aymee Chevallard. His Canine Son Brutus who stood faithfully by Ozzie's side always loyal and protective until Ozzie's final day. Grandsons Jay Charles and Mathew Pitkiewicz who he raised as his own sons, Joey Curry, and his table buddy grandson Justin Murray. Granddaughters Bayleigh (who he lovingly gave the nickname Boo and who he raised as a daughter) and Britney (Ryan) Gaston of whom he was proud. He will be missed deeply by his closest friends who became brothers in his final days, Garry Dials, Dick Holstein, Jack Murphy, Keith Newton, Marvin Preece, Terry Preece, Greg Simms, and John Vorhies.

Ozzie's impact reached far beyond the garages he worked in and the local bars he went to. His tough exterior concealed a heart that cared deeply for those around him. Whether sharing stories at his kitchen table or over a bucket of beers or lending a helping hand, Ozzie touched lives with authenticity and tough love.

He is preceded in death by his grandparents Lawrence and Edna Krieger whose farm was recalled as some of Ozzie's happiest childhood memories, His father Vern Osborn, His Aunt Jean Krieger, and his Brother Gary Osborn.
