Donald "Don" Joseph Bartley Sr., a proud Columbus, Ohio native, was born on October 19, 1943, and passed away on May 15, 2025, at the age of 81.

Growing up on the south side of Columbus with his parents, sister, and two brothers; interestingly, Don was one of three triplets, the first male triplet born in Ohio, an identical brother with whom he shared a special bond, yet he also possessed a unique characteristic that was a source of personal pride. He also shared a special bond with his brother Jim, his sister Dee and his mother.

Driven by his passion for acting, Don journeyed to California, where he honed his craft at the Theatre of Arts in Los Angeles and the Lawrence Merrick Drama School in Hollywood. His talent graced the silver screen in notable films such as "A Better Way to Die," "Centennial," and "Shawshank Redemption," among many others.

As a father and grandfather, Don was playful and engaging. He delighted his children and grandchildren with his spot-on Donald Duck imitations, and Saturday mornings were often filled with cartoons and cereal shared together. He was the quintessential dad who enthusiastically joined in on playtime and took immense joy in assembling his children's Christmas toys.

Don was a man of principle – a proud Marine, known for his orderliness and directness. His sharp wit, keen sense of humor, and masterful sarcasm, delivered with perfect comedic timing, were hallmarks of his personality, bringing levity to everyday life.

Don's passions included building a collection of movies and photographs, a tangible record of moments cherished. He found enjoyment in classic Western films, a good game of pool or darts, and, of course, acting. He also loved to dance, express himself through t-shirts with witty or sarcastic phrases, socialize with friends, travel to new places, and effortlessly become the center of attention at any gathering – truly "the life of the party"!

He will be deeply missed, yet remembered with a smile.

Don is survived by his wife, Karen Karr-Bartley, his brother Jim Bartley (Barbara), his children: Donald Bartley, Jr. aka "Donnie" (Celina), Shane Bartley, and Adrienne Bartley; and his step-children: Rudy Bartley, Scott Karr (Lisa), and Wendy Johnson (Rob). He also leaves behind his cherished grandchildren: Jaylin, Alex, Alayzah, Daevon, Luke (Katlyn), Hayden, Samantha, Josh, Nathan, and Rebekah.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Etta Mae Bartley, his father, David Bartley, Sr., his brother, David Bartley, Jr., his sister, Dee Tesi, his son, Robert Conrad Bartley, and his beloved canine companion, Kodi.

In accordance with his wishes, the family will hold a Celebration of Don's life – an occasion filled with memories and love.
