Donald L. Herdman, age 85, passed away on Thursday, January 1, 2026 in Whitehall, OH. Donald was born January 2, 1940 in Leon, WV to the late Rev. David and Lona Herdman. Donald served in the U.S. Army. He retired from the Kroger Bakery with over 25 years of service. Donald was a devoted Christian. He enjoyed decades of service as a volunteer musician and singer at nursing homes and at his church, as well as working on his cars. Donald is preceded in death by his parents; 2nd wife, Betty Jo; Siblings, Bub Herdman, Mary Jane Neil, Oley Herdman, Jim Herdman, Delmar Herdman, and Eileen Oldaker. He is survived by his wife, Audis Mae Herdman; children, Patricia (Daniel) Connelly, Mark Herdman; grandchildren, Christina Rardon and Matthew Lindsley; sister, Maxine Greene; numerous nieces, nephews, and many friends. Visitation for Donald will be Tuesday, January 6, 2026, from 11 a.m. until time of service at 1 p.m. at the O.R. WOODYARD CO. South Chapel, 1346 S. High St. in Columbus, OH. Pastor Shirley Rhodes officiating. Interment will follow at Glen Rest Cemetery, Reynoldsburg, OH.
