Donna Strait, age 83, passed away on June 1, 2026. Born on October 1, 1942 in Leon, West Virginia to Sydney and Ocie (Blanche Boles) Smith. She attended Point Pleasant High School in West Virginia. Donna worked as a Home Life Instructor for both the states of West Virginia and later Ohio. Finally she continued her service independently. On 1965 she married Merle Strait, enjoying 10 short but loving years with him.

Donna is preceded in death by her parents, Ocie Blanche and Sydney Smith; her husband, Merle. Donna is survived by her children, John Strait (Ava), and Cathy Strait; her grandchildren, Landon Grate, Prezley Strait, and Memphis Strait; and her brother, Gary Smith; and several nephews and nieces; and several dear friends.

She was a member of the VFW and the Eagles Club. She was one who loved traveling, and adored her family. Donna often looked at ways to connect her two loves.

Following Donna's wishes, no services are scheduled, however one may give to Gallia County HOPE in memory of Donna.
